On this week’s episode of the Health Ignited Podcast, we sit down with Mimi Lindquist for an inspiring conversation on the power of AHCC (a functional food cultured from Shiitake mushrooms with 30+ years of clinical research) and medicinal mushrooms to impact immune intelligence and support deeper healing, as well as the importance of encouraging open dialogue and education around HPV and the options women have for treatment.
Mimi is a Culinary Nutrition Expert, AHCC educator, registered dental hygienist and Host of The Medicin Podcast. She has been helping people prevent disease for over 10 years by educating and empowering individuals to be their own best health advocates. Today, her primary area of disease prevention education surrounds Immune Intel AHCC and other medicinal mushrooms.
Mimi shares the story of her own journey with a health pursuit that was well-intentioned but misguided and imbalanced, as she found herself engaging in orthorexic tendencies and creating a nutritional deficit in her body. Mimi talks about how the weight of carrying emotional trauma and the numerous symptoms of dis-ease she was experiencing (an unexplained rash that persisted for six months, hair falling out in clumps, ongoing acne breakouts) led her to step away from her existing routines and explore other options for getting well and living a healthy, balanced life. She discovered the healing power of medicinal mushrooms and continued to dive more deeply into her relationship with AHCC. Through becoming her own best health advocate, Mimi has carved out a career that’s deeply connected to her passion for mycelia and rooted in her lived experience with optimizing her own health through the dynamic intelligence of mushroom medicine.
In this episode, we also discuss Mimi’s work with HPV education and her efforts to empower women to take control of their health through open conversation around challenging subjects, self belief and positive inner dialogue, and the mantra “I can do hard things”, which has personally empowered her to overcome any challenge she’s faced. Tune in to learn more about AHCC and medicinal mushrooms, and be inspired by Mimi to become your own best health advocate!
