In this week’s episode of the Health Ignited Podcast, we welcome Devin Burke, an International and TEDx speaker, best selling author of “The Sleep Advantage”, the founder of Sleep Science Academy and one of the the top health and sleep coaches in the world. His books, keynotes, programs and videos have inspired thousands of people to improve their sleep, energy, and life.
Devin Burke helps high achievers and exhausted insomniacs get and stay asleep so they can wake up with more peace, power and presence.
The science of sleep and the quality of it goes beyond addressing the physical symptoms, it has a psychological component that could be the missing link to why you aren’t having quality sleep. Sleep needs to be a priority, it needs to be protected, most times it's an indicator for disfunction in our body. Devin explains how sleep can impact you mentally, emotionally and physically, from driving cortisol levels to affecting your appetite hormones, obesity and changing the way you show up in your relationships. He shares some of his favorite tools when it comes to optimizing sleep including temperature variation, weighted blanket, inclined sleeping, among others. How much sleep do you need?
